Today's Rogue is none other than Calamity Jane. I have heard of Calamity Jane all my life. She is legendary. Her story is more legend than it is actual history. In the many documentaries and books about her life, one thing stands out: She was a master storyteller. Her ability to tell stories about her self propelled her into the public mind. Her stories made her a legend.

She was asked to write a write down her story and she did. Now I will tell you right off the bat that there are some inaccuracies in this autobiography. But you got to remember that it was her storytelling ability that propelled her and made her a legend. Here we have her talking about herself. And because of her legendary status, we can appreciate and understand why this vital autobiography is so powerful.

I thought I'd just let it stand. So we're going to have her story read to you exactly as she wrote it herself. Calamity Jane is going to talk to you, telling you her story.

And I'm going to use graphics and movies in this video that she inspired. Unfortunately, we have very few photos of her. But we do have related western movies and pictures like that she inspired. So I used that material to illustrate her story. Indeed, her story propelled so much of the genre of the west. So why not use the Western genre that she Inspired. So that's what I'm doing here. So let's hear from Calamity Jane.
