Welcome! Today we are lucky to have an amazing and brilliant International Burlesque Star from the UK known as The Queen of Burlesque and rising actress Khandi Khisses! Today you are in for a treat of a special kind lovies, a special kind indeed! Khandie Khisses Star of many spades is also a renown Mermaid, fire performer , Writer, MC and DJ! Wow! Quite a talented and gorgeous woman.

There is something instant about Khandie where you know she is a Star and then it is confirmed. I am ecstatic that she was gracious enough to take time to answer some questions from an inquisitive hostess. So, let’s take a journey into the majickal world of Khandie Khisses.

QUESTIONS (Watch video for answers)
--First I wondered, Khandie Khisses, what is the origin of your inspiration to become a Burlesque Star?

--You are also a Mermaid and a fire performer. Fire and water, that’s nice balance there. Tell me more about being a Mermaid. It’s almost every little girls dream, was it yours as a little one?

How does it feel when you are underwater? What’s going through your mind?

It must feel so completely real being underwater with a luxurious tail. Do you ever get so swept away in the moment you feel there’s a tribe of Mermaids waiting around the bend to whisk you away from it all?

Now about the fire performance, the way you manipulate the fire is masterful and quite beautiful, very tribal sense to it. Being out in the night, dancing with fire, where does that take your soul? As in, is there an energy you connect to when working with the fire, or a thought that stays present in your mind?

--Khandie Khisses you are also and Actor. I watched the recent film you are in ‘Jimmy’s End’, which is available on youtube created/directed by Alan Moore and Mitch Jenkins, and I loved it! At only 32 minutes long it was an epic tale. I was so drawn into the story and absolutely captivated by the scenes, the cinematography, the ambiance and characters. Absolutely brilliant! I wanted to talk about one of the scenes you are in where you are laughing quite infectiously and for a long time. How did you breath in that scene? And did your face hurt after?

Your laughter was so contagious I found myself going into a bout of riotous laughter. You managed to make me laugh and yet sound a touch evil all at once. Brilliant. You played one of the ‘Bad brides’. How were you approached to be a part of this movie? And what made you say yes?

--You also model. Love your work. You can see Khandie Khisses' gallery on KhandieKhisses.com. You are absolutely gorgeous and have the perfect classic Burlesque figure. Which came first for you Burlesque or Modeling?

Have you thought of putting together a book of your Modeling?

You have so many talents, what are your favorite and least favorite memories so far as an International Burlesque Star?

You travel a lot, you have a lot of spirit and have adoring fans. How does your family respond to you being a Burlesque Icon?

--Khandie Khisses, you also a writer and clearly a very intelligent woman it shows in your creativity and your column on 21st Century Burlesque Magazine [which can be found online]. Have you ever had any issues with people in your life not being able to accept you as a beautiful face and figure, a wild unbreakable creatrix and a gorgeous brain as well? Do you feel people are often intimidated by this mixture? And what is your response, if any, to those who are intimidated by your energy?

You are very real and authentic I love that about you as a performer. This comes across your photos quite easily. I’ve read your column and love your article about keeping Burlesque personal and remembering to bring your spirit to your art and your fans. What advice would you give new Burlesque performers on how to steer away from becoming two dimensional photogenic beings?

I find it very important as being a Burlesque Performer to encourage new comers and established Stars alike to work harmoniously and keep the Diva attitude for the stage. I’ve also seen in your column at said magazine how you really feel the same and put thought into how to encourage new BurlyQ comers. What is the most important advice you would like to share to, as you lovingly call them, “fledgling performers”?

Being an international Burlesque Star must be very intense non-stop work. People sometimes forget that each routine must be choreographed and perfected. Some people do not understand how much time and grueling physical and creative hard work goes into choreographing each 30 seconds of pure Burlesque gold. After all this hard work what does Khandie Khisses do to unwind after a performance or a tour? What do you treat yourself with after such intense labor?

--You have your own Burlesque Academy called Hidden Hearts Academy, which everyone watching can find more about on Khandie Khisses website KhandieKhisses.com [spell out], what was the most challenging for you on the startup of this business?
What is the motto, if you will, or goal of Hidden Hearts Academy?

Where has been your favorite place to perform thus far?

What is next for Khandie Khisses? Any projects in the mix?

Can we expect to see you here in the USA in the near future?
